Medical Decision Support Systems Group

The Medical Decision Support Systems (MDSS) research group of the University of Thessaly aims to the discovery of novel computational methods and systems for aiding medical decision making. Such systems can contribute in the reduction of medical errors, and the enhancement of the quality of healthcare. Patient-centered personalized medicine, enhanced healthcare quality services and productivity are our priorities for a wider socioeconomic impact through scientific excellence.

Our research interests include, but are not limited to:

  • Computer-aided diagnosis
  • Medical image analysis
  • Analysis of time-series multimodal medical signals
  • Anomaly detection and localization
  • Uncertainty-aware medical decision support
  • Deep learning and other machine learning
  • Medical knowledge discovery and data mining
  • Contactless measurement systems
